<image:caption>Geoscience Empowerment Network: I created webpages on DEI&J resources compiled by the GEN community Science, Y’all! Blog: I organized a group of graduate student contributors to the JSG’s official inventory of current and proposed DEI initiatives. See the blog post here. Our work was critical to creating this inventory and increasing transparency of the efforts on-going at one of the top geoscience programs in the world.</image:caption>

<image:caption>JSG Structural Geology Faculty Search Committee: I served as the Graduate Student Representative on the search committee to fill a position in Structural Geology in the Department of Geological Sciences at UT-Austin. Lithosphere and Deep Earth Seminar: I was a co-organizer for the 2020-2021 academic year and my responsibilities included contacting potential speakers, organizing the schedule, and hosting the talks online via zoom (we used a virtual format for 2020-2021). Graduate Student Executive Committee: I am serving my second academic year as GSEC’s webmaster. I work to continue clarity on the website and reflect the most up-to-date information for graduate and prospective students, including providing an easy access point for various resources. As part of GSEC, I am also part of communicating graduate student voices to faculty and administration at JSG. GeoFORCE Mentor: From 2016-2018, I mentored UT undergraduates who participated in the GeoFORCE program in high school. In this role I reviewed graduate school/job/internship applications, answered questions about graduate school/research avenues, and was available for other needs from my mentees.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Science, Y’all! Blog: I have been the editor-in-chief of Science, Y’all! since August of 2019. In this role I am responsible for organizing authors to various posts and publishing these posts on the blog and maintaining the website. I have been on the editorial team of the blog since 2017. UT OnRamps: I have worked on various elements of the introductory geoscience course (Earth, Wind, & Fire), including course enhancement, as a course grader, and coordinating and writing the Perspectives in Geoscience video series (I wrote about the work on Science, Y’all!). The photo to the right shows some of our filming days with Jackson School researchers, where we asked them to talk about their diversie pathways into geoscience. Find all of the videos (including one featuring me!) on the OnRamps' YouTube profile.</image:caption>

<image:title>About Me - About Me</image:title>
<image:caption>I am an Assistant Professor at Oberlin College, where I am starting to set-up my structure and petrochronology lab! I earned my PhD from the Jackson School of Geosciences at UT-Austin in 2022 and I self-describe as a “structural petrochronologist”—my research lies at the intersection of structural geology and tectonics, geo- and thermochronology, and petrology and I enjoy working in the field and in the lab. I am particularly interested in dating faults and shear zones and reconstructing long-term thermal histories in exhumed metamorphic terranes—both contractional and extensional. My work has taken me to the U.S. Basin & Range and Cordillera, the Greek Cyclades, as well as the central Atlantic Blue Ridge/Appalachians, but I have been fortunate to see geology in many other places including eastern Siberia and the Moroccan Atlas Mountains. I am passionate about teaching and engaging research at the undergraduate level, as well as civic (geo)science literacy and the access of geoscience education and JEDI in the geosciences. Besides looking at or talking about rocks, I enjoy gardening, kayaking, watercolors, reading, taking walks, and cooking with my husband.</image:caption>
